S.I.L.O
“S.I.L.O” is a site-specific sculpture specifically developed for the (X) Sites Kattegattleden project 2019. A cylindrical form based partly upon a structure for storing bulk materials, measuring 3666 mm in height and 1560 mm in diameter.
The form is multi layered to give a depth of vision creating a characteristic structural “carving” reminiscent in many of Frost’s artworks. In this way, the sculptures always possess a form for estrangement due to these characteristic signs, which allow the artwork to contain a proximity, similarity and continuation as found within the evolvement of the natural world. This characteristic method for “deconstruction” contributes to the breakdown and ultimate alienation of the given form. In this way the artworks cycle symbolizes the constant, repetitive, cycle of the natural world upon the given environment, the river Storån. In this way, the artwork S.I.L.O.’s intention is to create a visual representation through the use of repetitive signs, a “code” that echo’s the cycle of the river waters and surrounding cultural landscape.
