Sylvan Sycamore
Stuart Ian Frost's site-specific artwork titled “Sylvan Sycamore” for L+A+N+D, Bernheim Forest, Kentucky, involves drilling thousands of holes in a standing Sycamore tree trunk to create a series of Fibonacci spirals, echoing patterns found in nature. Situated in Gorilla Hollow, this intervention serves as a poignant reflection on the resilience of ecosystems, particularly in an area previously devastated by a storm. The spiral's resemblance to the eye of a storm adds layers of symbolism to Frost's exploration of nature's intricate connections and the enduring spirit of the forest. https://bernheim.org/news/stuartfrost-landart/
